Ek ghar mein ek chalak Billi rehti thi aur wahaan ek bahut aalsi Chuha bhi tha.
Billi roz subah Chuhe ko pakadne ki koshish karti, lekin Chuha itna aalsi tha ki bhaagna bhi dheere-dheere karta!

Ek din Billi ne socha,
“Ye Chuha to aalsi hai… ise pakadna bohot aasaan hoga!”

Billi chupke–chupke uske peeche gayi.
Chuhe ne Billi ko dekha, par bhaagna ki jagah bola:
“Arre Billi didi, bhaagne ka mann nahin… thoda baad mein pakad lena!”

Billi hans padi aur boli:
“Tum aalsi ho, lekin dil ke bure nahin. Aaj se hum dushman nahin, dost!”

Us din ke baad dono saath khelte, doodh aur cheese baantkar khate,
