बिहार के एक सुनसान गाँव में खड़ा है एक पुराना आम का पेड़, जिसे लोग “कुहासा वाला पेड़” कहते हैं। रात होते ही उसके चारों तरफ़ रहस्यमयी धुंध फैल जाती है—और उसी धुंध में छिपी है एक जली-बुझी आत्मा, जो अपने खोए हुए बच्चे की तलाश में भटकती है। पूजा नाम की लड़की एक रात जब shortcut लेते हुए उस पेड़ के पास पहुँचती है, तो उसे एक ऐसी परछाईं दिखती है जो उसके जीवन का आख़िरी सच बन जाती है। पेड़ के नीचे रोती हुई वह औरत… उसका विकृत चेहरा… और पूजा के बैग में हिलती वह चीज़—सब एक ऐसे रहस्य को उजागर करते हैं, जिसे गाँव वाले आज भी दबाकर रखना चाहते हैं। कहते हैं, जिसने भी उस पेड़ के पास टंगे हिलते बैग को देखा… वह कभी वापस नहीं आया।
